Welcome to Sandstone Rustic Retreat, a small premier resort nestled in the heart of Wisconsin Dells, WI, USA. We pride ourselves on providing an exceptional and unforgettable experience for all our guests.

Cozy Cabins
Our four recently renovated, cozy cabins provide all the conveniences of home. Each cabin features a single bedroom furnished with a queen-sized bed, as well as a living room equipped with a daybed/trundle combo to comfortably accommodate up to four guests. Additionally, every cabin boasts a fully equipped bathroom and a kitchenette, complete with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and toaster. Situated in close proximity to one another, these cabins are ideal for accommodating large families, groups of friends, or solo travelers. This arrangement allows you to stay near your loved ones while also offering the seclusion and privacy you desire for a relaxing getaway.
Studio Cottage
The studio cottage offers two comfortable queen beds, a full bathroom, and a well-appointed kitchenette with amenities like a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster. Nestled at the heart of our property, it's conveniently situated near the Gathering House, our central hub. You'll also find the communal fire pit, a covered patio, and a grilling station just a stone's throw away. Plus, you'll have the luxury of your own private deck and seating area for a serene outdoor experience.
Glamping Domes!
Staying in a dome amidst nature is a unique experience. The circular structure offers an amazing view of the surroundings, with peaceful sounds of rustling leaves, chirping birds, and a flowing river below. The cozy dome has a queen size bed, night stands, a seating area, mini fridge, and a coffee maker. At night, the starry sky and nature's sounds lull you to sleep. Waking up, you feel refreshed, and the peaceful surroundings and breathtaking views leave a lasting impression.

Kayak Rental
Embark on an adventure through the stunning upper Dells along the Wisconsin River. Depart directly from our private dock and immerse yourself in the breathtaking rock formations and the abundant natural beauty that envelops you. Kayak rentals are available at $40 for four hours or $50 for a full day. Don't hesitate to contact us for further information and reservations.
The Gathering House
The Gathering House serves as the core of our property, reserved exclusively for our guests between 7:30 AM and midnight. Within its welcoming confines, you can savor the offerings of our coffee bar, unwind in comfortable seating areas, partake in games, and socialize with your family, friends, and fellow guests. Whether you're looking to order in a meal or simply wish to unwind with a refreshing beverage while engaging in delightful conversations, this space provides the perfect setting.
Covered Patio Area
Our covered outdoor patio space is an ideal setting for creating cherished memories with your friends and family. Situated just steps away from the Gathering House, this patio is equipped with a grilling station, a shared bonfire area, outdoor games, and additional seating. It's the ultimate spot to unwind, relish the outdoors, and make the most of your time together.
This retreat is absolutely AMAZING! We loved the seclusion and views. The trail to the dock was so beautiful; it was a great place to take in some of the beauty that God has made! Cale and Tanya are great people with a great vision. We will be back!

My husband and I just celebrated our 20th Anniversary at the Sandstone Rustic Retreat and couldn't have been more pleased!!! The property is absolutely beautiful and the cabins are amazing! They are cozy and very well cared for. From the moment we arrived at the Sandstone, we were greeted and Tanya and Cale went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect for our stay. Tanya was so responsive prior to and during our stay if there was anything we needed. They also provided the best recommendations for activities and restaurants. We rented their kayaks one day, which I highly recommend! The Gathering House is a beautiful facility that would be perfect for a small group to hang out together or just to have some extra space to relax. The property is pet friendly, which allowed us to bring our two dogs along. Thank you again! This trip far exceeded our expectations and was so very special. We will be back!!!

The heart of our space, the Gathering House, provides an ideal setting for group gatherings. Additionally, our covered patio and bonfire area provide even more space to enjoy during the warmer months.

Peyton's Promise for H.O.P.E
Our WHY...
In October of 2021, our lives were forever changed when tragedy struck just blocks away from our home. Cale's 17-year-old daughter, Peyton, and her boyfriend, Anthony, were involved in a devastating motorcycle accident. While Anthony tragically lost his life instantly, Peyton was revived at the scene but suffered severe brain damage. She valiantly fought for a week in the hospital but ultimately succumbed to her injuries and joined God. This heart-wrenching event sent shockwaves through our community, marking one of the most traumatic experiences we had ever faced. Yet, within the darkness, we witnessed the extraordinary support of our community as they rallied around our family and the grieving students, attempting to comprehend the magnitude of this tragedy.This profound event changed us at our core, forever altering the course of our lives. It made us acutely aware that each day is a precious gift, and we never know when our last one will arrive. Our tragic loss, coupled with the overwhelming support from friends who offered their vacation homes for healing, inspired us deeply. It became evident that a safe and nurturing space could have a profound impact on those who are hurting and seeking solace. Our property is not just a venture; it is an opportunity for us to reach out to families like ours, extend a helping hand, and provide the time and space they need to heal and create lasting memories. Our vision encompasses using our property to host special events that raise funds for local community needs, offering respite to families in search of solace, and organizing retreats for young adults as they embark on their journeys into adulthood.
